The Waiting Room - Space Installation Zhou B Art Center 2017
This piece is done in a moment of self -reflecting in a timeless moment where nothing else matters but just that moment you are in. It is a moment of remembering the past the; happy and the sad which was caught up in the cycle that brought this exact moment here. This is the waiting room where you can’t control the future, you just wait and as always with or without you the future repeats the past over and over again. So I invite you to wait not knowing the outcome only knowing the past, how you got here and this moment. I invite you to step in and see the world from new eyes for this moment and watch the cycle to remember and forget all at the same time.

They went in two at a time from doors at the opposite ends of the room. they were instructed to exit from the door the other participant entered. The sound of bells and the sheets as people walked alluded to an ephemeral universe.

This was a project that started with my encounter with Jan Steen’s “Beware of Luxury” painting. It is a painting where the lady of the house falls asleep and as a result the house is a mess. The man of the house has a prostitute and there are animals everywhere. I started playing around with the question of what would happen if the lady of the house woke up?How would the prostitute get away? From this idea came 10 designs that are accessories or garments that would help someone disappear in plain sight. The designs had a Wallace and Gromit kind of humor where they were made to get away even though obviously noticeable.I presented the pieces as a performance installation where I recreated the “lab” of the inventor of these pieces and acted as the inventor and explained what the best use for them was.The dress on the right was made so you can sale away if you needed to get away from the city.
